JUMP

In an exhibition recently presented in the beautiful Palazzo Ducale in Sabbioneta, artist Silvia Caimi meets choreographer Sisina Augusta's dance company Compagnia di Teatro Danza. The theme of the exhibit is the "jump," the physicaleffort to transcend human nature and essence. Caimi's artistic research is strongly influenced by her classical studies, specifically here by Plotino's Neoplatonic philosophical theories suggesting that phenomena and forms are a pale image or imitation of something higher, the most authentic part of the true Being.

In her dialog with dance and with Sisina Augusta's choreography, Silvia Caimi invites us to discover our true nature through a reflection in the beauty of her figures and wonderful bodies in evolution, where the athletic gesture represents a temporal passage and a moral evolution of man.

On view through March 9, 2018.
